Kit Webster’s LCD Illuminated Crystals: Prismatica
In his own words, Prismatica “acts as an extension of the visual and perceptual experimentations” of Webster’s immersive installations:
Prismatica consists of an arrangement of pyramid-shaped crystals affixed to an LCD screen and illuminated with programmed geometric animations. These animated patterns are precisely mapped to the vertices of the crystals, activating them individually and in formation. The animations are further refracted through the geometry of the crystals in accordance with the shifting perspective of the observer, which in turn alters the way the illuminations appear and interact with reflections of surrounding lights within the space.
XYZT, Les Paysages Abstraits
via TRIANGULATION BLOG:
X (horizontal), Y (vertical), Z (depth), T (time). Four letters to describe the motion of a point in the space, and think about an imaginary environment. Mathematical paradoxes, mesmerizing typographies and moving landscapes, all this at this exhibition called “XYZT, Les paysages abstraits” (XYZT The abstract landscapes).
Surveying of the digital space, finger algorithms, fields of light… a lot of imaginary territories to explore. A coincidence between geometric and organic, between real and virtual. This is an awesome installation and interactive project created by Adrien M / Claire B and Martin Gautron
GRID – Monumental Kinetic Light Installation
Christopher Bauder’s kinetic light installation, GRID for the 2013 Festival of Lights:
Located in the heart of the Hôtel de Région Rhône-Alpes, GRID combines light and movement correlated with the choir singing 45 Concert Hostel God and electronic notes Robert Henke. Forming straight lines, diagonals and diamonds, GRID comes alive with the rhythms of contemporary sounds of two musical groups:
- Concert of Hostel God whose choir will perform The Immortal Bach, arranged by Knut Nystedt and directed by Franck-Emmanuel Comte
- Robert Henke, German artist, noticed on the international electronic music scene since the 90s and founder of Monolake.

Audi Urban Future Initiative Interactive Table. Constructed for CES International 2014, the Audi Urban Future Initiative Interactive Table displays the results of the City Dossier Boston project as well as projections for the future of urbanism. The table utilizes augmented reality screens which layer these projections onto a model of the city of Boston to contextualize data and visions. Source
Corpo Elettrico 3.0 - Performed At The Invisible Dog Art Center Brooklym NY (Long Version). People can change the sound through a simple hand gesture. Users can select four kinds of sounds, which can then be modified through hand movements above the table. By opening your hands, you may exit the sound selection and move on to modify another sound. A molecule is placed at the centre of the graphic interface, and every sound is represented by an atom. The molecule represents our planet, and the hand gestures represent the modifications made by people. Every sound is obtained from the recording of a natural sound, and the users’ hand gestures render this sound more or less artificial. Source
Flow is an interactive table of 12 meters long and 1 meter wide, with a multi-touch screen. Icons flowing across the screen. Being touched allow released new data or play a trivia. The screen allows you to interact more than 30 people at a time. Source
Costain A465 Road Development. Working on behalf of the Welsh government, engineering solutions provider Costain needed to communicate the design element of section 2 of the A465 road development to local residents, raising public awareness of those concerned about the potential local impact. Inition designed an iPad AR app that presented the entirety of the landscape with the road section in situ, included five hotspots of major intersections. Source
